Shut Up and Go Home, Bitch

Dear Sarah Palin,

As I write this I want you to understand that I am not in my mother’s basement writing it. I am in my pajamas, but they are really awesome pajamas and have nothing to do with the fact that I am the “blogger” you claim that I am. In fact, I am a blogger that manages to help support a family or two on my blogging. In my spare time, I offer money to help kids with Muscular Dystrophy (that’s a disability, in case you haven’t heard of it…) have a nice holiday season (their parents are drowning in medical bills and can’t always offer presents).

You seem to keep repeating that the reason that the Republicans lost and the reason that no one likes you is because of the media. The news media, journalists, and bloggers all had it out for you. We spun things. I’m here to tell you that we didn’t need to spin anything. You were sensational enough on your own. McCain was not voted in because he ran a dirty campaign and because you’re a full fledged idiot.

Every time you open your mouth someone else begins to not like you. It doesn’t matter if you’re advocating for all disabled people because of your son, Trig (though all disabilities are different so it’s wrong to try and champion yourself based on the fact that you had a baby with a problem) or you’re making funny jokes to try and get more people to like you. The biggest joke will always be you. Shame on you for being as unintelligent and uneducated in the ways of politics and trying to become anyone in power. I am just glad that the American public wasn’t as stupid as I thought they were going to be.

There are rumors that you want to run for President in 2012. From what I have heard 100% of Democrats support this move. The reason for this is because we know that if you do, you will lose, and we will end up with Obama again or someone else if you choose to run later. The only good thing about you running would likely be the return of Tina Fey on SNL. Even then, it would hardly be worth the painstaking process of listening to you sound like an idiot every single day of your campaign.

There are so many things that I could write about today that I cannot pick which one. So rather than spread myself too thin I am just going to go out on a limb and make a collective list of things that are annoying me right this second.

Please note that these are in no particular order.

Thomas Beattie: If you want to get pregnant that’s awesome, go for it. If you want to be transgendered, I’m all for that, too. However, do not say you are something you are not so that you can do something you want to do that is not legal and then try to change history for profit at the expense of your children.

Thomas chose to keep his vagina knowing full well that she was going to use it to have children some day. Some interviews has her claiming that she transitioned so that she could marry her wife legally. That doesn’t make her a man and it doesn’t make her transgendered. In fact, had she told an ethical doctor her reason for wanting to become a man, they would have never allowed the transition in the first place.

However, some doctor did and now the entire community of people fighting for equal rights are being lumped with the “pregnant man.” People don’t understand it, so they don’t tolerate it. If she wanted to have a baby so bad, she should have done it quietly like everyone else. I’ve had kids. I didn’t sell images to Getty or go on Oprah. The Beatties keep saying what they are doing is a natural and normal thing. If that’s the case they need to just shut up and do it like every other normal, everyday person that does it everyday without any form of profit or a nationally recognized book deal.

The only thing that makes Thomas’ vagina special is that it’s attached to someone with a beard. Why this is even news, I am not sure.

Twitter User that Thank Every Follower: If you have some friends or some people that are just plain awesome on your twitter than by all means give them a shout out. Tell me to add them because I will. I love meeting new people and am more than happy to add a worthwhile twitter user. However, I hate when a person gets 150 new twitter followers a day and feels the need to thank every single fucking one of them. We get you’re thankful that they followed you. You thanking them does not make you appear cool and considering you’re thanking every other person that added you, it’s hardly a declaration of your interest to get to know them. If you want to show your interest, try talking to them people. An @ in a conversation goes a long way. An @ in a “thanks for the follow,” “New Followers:,” or “Cool Peeps,” not so much.

People that Enter Contests on Blogs with Stupid Comments: We run contests and giveaways all the time on our other blogs (LI Reviews & LI Kids). We get plenty of comments on every contest/giveaway we have, and that’s great! I always say, the more the merrier. However, we often get comments that are left with the undeniable feeling that they were written just to pull at heart strings enough to allow the person to win. For example, someone mentioning their disabled spouse loving the item we’re giving away. First, why would you need to tell me your spouse is disabled? Plenty of people say their spouse will love various items, so why add in something about them being disabled? I don’t go to other blogs to enter contests and say, “I’d really love to win this for my disabled lover and autistic son. If you could let me win for wheelie and socially awkward teenagers around the world that would be hot.”

I read something somewhere that struck me as odd the other day. It stated that a large percentage of men (far more than women) feel that Sarah Palin is not only qualified to be the vice-president, but also to lead this country.

Those are strong words.

I don’t even feel like Bush is qualified to run this country, so hearing that people think she is ready just baffles me. It got worse when my mother came home with tales from the gas station.

“Gas is nearly $4 a gallon,” she says “and an 80 year old man was pumping gas next to me and he said ‘this is why I want that woman in office. She supports energy.’”

She also supports drilling in ANWAR, the destruction of polar bears, and having Alaska secede from the United States. That’s not everything of course, but just some of her finer moments.

Could it be possible? Is it possible that many men are not thinking…well, at least not with their brains?

When I ask Palin supporters why they like her they often cannot give me a firm reason that is based on issues. Some things I do hear are:

“She’s good looking.”

“She knew she was having a Down Syndrome baby and kept it.”

“She’s a good mother”

My responses usually follow suit:

“Personally, I think she looks like a less intelligent Hitler in a dress.”

“Maybe we should nominate Bristol. I think she’s the real hero in this scenario.”

“So, she’s a woman that got pregnant out of high school and eloped (with the baby born eight months later) hoping no one would be able to do the math. She grows up to build a decent life that includes kids that follow in her footsteps by getting pregnant, but they presumably up the ante, and she handles her problems at home using shotgun weddings and the idea that she will become even busier (having less time at home) as vice-president. Oh, and while this is going on she is trying to dictate how we live, what we teach our children, and the books people read to ensure that we live the chaste life that her own family (her included) cannot seem to live themselves?”

On a personal level, we don’t give a hoot whether Sarah Palin abstained or not. From a voter’s perspective, one of the most important issues is whether or not the candidate is honest, open and virtuous. If Sarah Palin did not abstain as a teenager, why is she the authority on abstinence? It’s bad enough she’s trying to tell our nation’s children they have to abstain when she couldn’t even get her own daughter to listen to that simple message.

It’s called hypocrisy. You can do whatever you want because you’re a Christian and can be forgiven and supported for your sins. BUT, and this is a very big but, you expect something more of others. If you can’t live up to the standards you hold for others, then you are a hypocrite. It’s plain and simple logic.

We do believe that usually, a person’s private life should be just that. Unfortunately, the Republicans seem to believe that a Democrat’s private life should be dragged through the mud and exposed while Republicans aren’t held to the same standard. If it is revealed without a shadow of a doubt that Sarah Palin is a liar, shouldn’t she be held to the same standards as Bill Clinton, John Edwards, or any of the other politicians whose lies have been exposed? If she can’t handle the heat or scrutiny, why not stay out of the kitchen?

We’ve already talked about the possibility Trig is Bristol’s son, the fact that Bristol’s pregnancy doesn’t fit in with the family values Republicans typically hold and the shifty nature of Sarah Palin. Now, we look to Sarah Palin’s own pregnancy. As shady as her last “supposed” pregnancy was, so was her very first pregnancy. Track Palin, the eldest child of the Palins may have been conceived prior to his parent’s marriage. We might just have enough information to prove that.

I used to attend Criminal Justice school online. I always made quite the impression when the topics of criminal rehabilitation and the death penalty came up. I am of the firm belief that some people cannot be saved. If these people, whoever they are, cannot be saved then I feel it’s only fair that we do the taxpayers a favor and save them a buck. That’s right I think we need to off the guys that cannot be saved.

Currently criminals are receiving the message that no matter what they do there will be someone out there to defend them and try and save them, usually so they can go out and do it all over again. Just look at people like Casey Anderson. It seems to be more than obvious that she killed her kid, yet there are people out there that will defend her, saying things like the chloroform details are false and the decomposing body in the car was really a diaper that sat there all day. Didn’t you know? When a diaper sits there long enough it begins to sprout matter that appears to look like decomposition. If people did their homework they would know that.

Instead, I think we should have an adequate system for those that we are fully aware cannot be saved. We could fully castrate (yes, penis, too) pedophiles. Of course, I realize that this would not stop them from trying to harm little children. So, with that in mind, if we allowed them to live someone would need to cut their arms and legs off, too. Serial murderers could be set on fire and put on pay per view to help squelch the national debt. You know, things like that.

Jumping on the Barack Bandwagon

Written By: Ashtyn

September 4, 2008

I am a Hilary supporter. No matter who wins this election I will go into the voting box thinking the best candidate and hope for saving this country has already lost. When Hilary first told America to vote for Barack Obama I was mad. In my heart, I don’t believe she thinks that his lack of inexperience and big words are right for this country either. False hope is the last thing anyone needs right now. However, I see that in her mind, and perhaps my own, any democrat is better than the chance of ending up with any other republican.

Still I could not bring myself to side with Hilary at first. I didn’t care what she said. I wasn’t going to vote, because I feel this race is not about the best man for the job, but rather, the lesser of two evils. It’s not about the man that will bring America back to the superpower it once was. It’s about the man who won’t screw it up anymore than it already is. And sadly, Obama’s lead in the race is not about what he has said or done in his career. It’s because he’s not that other guy. While I am glad that he’s not like McCain, I just don’t feel comfortable electing someone I don’t believe in just because he isn’t McCain.

That was all until Sarah Palin came into the race as the republican nominee for vice president. That’s when all bets were off and I took Hilary’s advice to heart. Still not fully believing in his ability to lead, I will vote Obama for one reason – fear of someone like Sarah Palin in the White House. It is shocking that someone with as much experience as McCain would try to pull the vagina toting supporters of Hilary over by choosing Palin as his running mate.

News flash McCain. She isn’t even close.

As a homeschooling mother, college student, blogger, and writer I cannot condone choosing someone that not only wishes to ban books based on their own religious convictions, but that is so hypocritical they will ban the book, but not live by the one that caused them to ban it.

This is a woman with five kids that she isn’t raising. The pregnant one (Bristol) is not married (which I think is better for her, personally) and getting plenty of media attention. Sure after mom announced it, she wanted the child to be left alone, but maybe she should have had the forethought to not bring it up. I know that they claim it was done because of false accusations by liberal bloggers, but why pony up a press conference if you know it will just do what you do not want it to do? The better response would have been to remind the journalists that are telling a truth that you don’t want announced that kids are off limits. In Palin’s case, that would mean all five of them.

There are a lot of things in this world that get on my nerves. One of those things is when people refuse to take personal responsibility. Another thing is when people in positions of power refuse to call a spade a spade. It makes perfect sense why the jails are overflowing because they are filled with petty criminals. People with seemingly minor drug offenses end up in jail/prison, taking those spots from people that deserve to be there. What’s worse is when it’s obvious that someone should be imprisoned for a certain charge only to allow for pleas. Then, due to just plain negligence on the part of the DA’s office, the justice system ends up giving the criminal a break.

Donnette Sanz died August 14, 2008. While I did not know her or her husband, Rafael, my heart goes out to the Sanz family. Donette was a civilian member of the NYPD (traffic cop). The last thing that she did before she died was give birth to her son, Sean Michael Justin Sanz. It was not the birth that killed Donnette. The cause of her death was murder, or criminally negligent homicide, depending on how you want to look at it.

Sanz was struck by a van that was driven by 72 year old Walter Walker. When Walker hit Sans the force from the van catapulted her into a school bus that ended up running her over. She ended up trapped beneath the bus. More than 30 people ended up lifting the bus off Sanz so that she could receive emergency care. She managed to stay alive to deliver her son via C-section, but died immediately after. Sadly, the little boy died recently, as well.

Rafeal Sans was married to Donnette for four years and is very much in love with her. During reports he has spoken about how his wife donated a kidney to him prior to their wedding. Speaking of his son, while grieving over the loss of his wife he told reporters, “He meant everything to me. He died in my arms.”

My Day With Dell Customer Service

Written By: Ashtyn

August 21, 2008

I had the worst customer service experience in recent years on the phone today. This was surprising because it was with a company that I spend a lot of money at, every year. It’s safe to say that I am a frequent customer of Dell. Last Christmas, I purchased 2 XPS desktop systems and received two $150 gift cards, as a result.

On August 3, I made two purchases. One was for a Studio Laptop and the other was for an mp3 player and a PS3 video game. Both orders were purchased online with the gift cards.

The cards were entered and the $150 was removed per card. I put the remainder of the bill on my Dell charge. I received my bill, a week or so later, to learn that the gift card money had not been deducted for these charges, despite the Dell website claiming that the gift card money was removed.

I called to handle the issue and spoke to 5 people that transferred me, all of whom could not speak English well enough to understand me. The fifth person transferred me to another person, also a person that did not speak English and was incredibly rude. He blamed me for not realizing that you cannot use Dell gift cards and Dell credit cards in the same purchase. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, he rudely informed me that it wouldn’t make a difference because a supervisor would not change the rules for me. He ended up transferring me to another person that could not speak English, who was rude, and was unable to work her phone well enough so she ended up hanging up on me.

I called back to request a manager, which once I got to her, made her the ninth person I talked to in a single day. The manager was the most polite person I spoke to, but when it came to dealing with the issues I had, she put me in touch with someone from returns. That person (number 10) claimed that he could not take the charges from my account, but due to the fact that the computer was already malfunctioning he would offer a discount on the computer. He offered $120, which I declined. When I informed them that my Microsoft Office CD was stuck in the computer, the first response was that a CD like that isn’t that expensive (though Dell charges close to $400 for the one I have) and the next response, once that was pointed out, was that you can download the program, so as long as I have my activation number that CD should not matter.

At this point I was through. I informed the man on the phone that I wanted $150 off the laptop and both gift cards returned, since the money for them was never taken off anyway. He claimed that he was unable to offer the additional $30 so I have made plans to send the laptop back. After that he connected me with person eleven in order to get my gift cards back since they were never used.
